Iced Tea Ideas For Special Events

If you're looking for a way to quench your guests' thirst during a special event, you can't go wrong with iced tea. Cold and refreshing, iced tea is easy to customize with a variety of syrups and other add-ins.

Iced tea is typically made from black tea and orange pekoe. However, you can also make iced tea out of a variety of other types of tea, including jasmine, white and green, and fruity herbal blends. No matter what type of tea you decide to go with, it's easy to get creative with the flavors for parties. If you have a large guest list, you may want to serve a few different types to give party-goers a choice.

Iced tea is the perfect beverage for any type of special occasion or event, from the fanciest soiree to casual backyard bashes. Consider serving it at kids' and adults' birthday parties, holiday celebrations, wedding receptions, bridal and baby showers, graduations, and family reunions. Although it's typically a summer drink, iced tea tastes delicious year-round.

If you have a large guest list, purchasing the iced tea from a wholesale retailer may save you money. You can purchase the tea either in bags or loose leaf, depending on your preference.

Here are some iced tea ideas for special events:

1. Classic Black Tea

You can never go wrong with serving classic black iced tea at events. Go with a choice of sweet, which you can make in the traditional southern way using cane sugar, or unsweetened. Serve both types with sliced lemons and sugar packets or liquid cane sugar for customizing.

As a traditional touch, serve the iced black tea in charming mason jars, along with long-handed silver spoons for stirring sugar.

2. Fruity Iced Tea

During the summer months when many types of fruits are at their peaks, use the bounty to enhance any type of iced tea, including black, white and green blends. As one idea, make a homemade  syrup by boiling water, cane sugar and a fruit puree, such as raspberry or peach, and then stirring it into the iced tea prior to serving.

If you don't have fresh fruit on hand, you can use fruit-flavored bottled syrups instead. Use high-quality syrups for the best, most authentic taste.

3. Lemonade Twist

Shake things up by mixing half lemonade and half sweetened or unsweetened black iced tea. Garnish with fresh lemon wedges and fresh mint leaves for both color and flavor. You can use raspberry lemonade for even more flavor.
